Job Description

Our client, a national law firm, is seeking a Patent Prosecution Attorney with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will have experience in software, computer science, or electrical engineering fields.

Schedule: Hybrid 3/2

Billable Hours: 1,900

Responsibilities:

  • Handle strategic aspects of multiple legal matters from inception to conclusion
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys and clients
  • Work independently and productively in Intellectual Property law
  • Produce quality legal work and meet billing requirements
  • Manage and generate business through group and individual efforts

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor
  • A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO
  • 2-6 years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or in-house
  • Experience in preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications
  • Previous non-legal experience in consumer electronics, software, web-based services, full-stack development, generative AI, machine learning, data structures, data storage, and databases is a plus but not required
