Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with strong experience in embedded systems and software engineering for off-highway construction machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for software development, tuning, testing, and release activities to support machine functionality, performance, and reliability while meeting project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support embedded control software for off-highway construction equipment.
- Perform software tuning and calibration on machines to achieve optimal performance and functional requirements.
- Execute software engineering and software-level testing activities to meet project milestones and delivery timelines.
- Develop and integrate new software features based on system and customer requirements.
- Analyze software and system-level issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions.
- Support software validation, verification, and regression testing activities.
- Manage and support the SVN branching, merging, and release process in accordance with configuration management standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems, hardware, validation, and manufacturing engineers.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to software design, testing, and releases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in embedded systems and software engineering for off-highway or construction machines.
- Hands-on experience with embedded C/C++ or similar programming languages.
- Strong understanding of machine control systems, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
- Experience in software tuning, calibration, and on-machine testing.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and milestone-driven delivery.
- Working knowledge of version control systems, specifically SVN , including branching and release management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with construction, agricultural, or other off-highway equipment domains.
- Knowledge of CAN, J1939, or other vehicle communication protocols.
- Exposure to model-based development tools (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Experience working in Agile or V-model development environments.
