The Opportunity
We’re working confidentially with a specialist engineering organization operating in the electrical power, controls, and industrial systems space. They’re looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys owning designs end-to-end and working closely with Electrical and Controls Engineers on complex, safety-critical equipment.
This role is hands-on, product-focused, and ideal for someone who enjoys seeing designs go from concept through manufacture .
What You’ll Be Doing
- Full product lifecycle ownership - concept, detailed design, validation, and manufacture
- Mechanical design of systems and enclosures that interface with electrical controls, power equipment, and panels
- Close collaboration with Electrical and Controls Engineers to ensure compliant, integrated designs
- Produce detailed SolidWorks models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation
- Support testing, build, and validation activities
Background & Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong experience with SolidWorks
- Exposure to UL standards , ideally UL 891 and/or UL 508A (highly desirable)
- Experience designing products regulated for power, controls, or industrial applications
- Comfortable working across design, test, and validation phases
- Experience with simulation and analysis is beneficial
- MATLAB exposure would be an advantage, but not essential
