Job Description
Overview: The Nurse Manager will lead 15+ nurses across two clinics, including necessary floating. This role is central to ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care in partnership with the allied leadership team. The manager is expected to be a hands-on leader, a commitment highlighted by a three-month onboarding period working as a staff nurse to intimately learn workflows and pain points. Cultural competence is essential for working effectively with our racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse staff and patient population.
Responsibilities :
- Manage daily clinical operations, patient flow, and resource coordination across primary care, lab, and health care satellite extensions in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer, Medical Director, and Director of Nursing leadership team.
- Serve as the clinical leader and resource for staff, managing all Registered Nurse (RN) and Medical Assistant (MA) direct reports.
- Ensure smooth clinic operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing workflows, operational policies, and procedures.
- Oversee vaccine management, including coordinating, tracking inventory, and monitoring vaccination rates.
- Handle all personnel matters, including working with HR on performance improvement plans and completing annual staff evaluations.
- Manage weekly staffing schedules, respond to last-minute changes (e.g., sick calls), and ensure appropriate Provider/Nurse/MA coverage ratios.
- Guide, mentor, and train new staff (RNs and MAs); ensure all staff receive ongoing clinical support and in-services to remain current in their fields.
Requirements :
- Bachelors in Nursing (BSN)
- Massachusetts RN License
- Direct patient care experience in the outpatient space within the last 2 years
- Comfortable with management duties (schedules, leadership meetings, etc.) and working on the floor
- Ability to commute between Brighton and Waltham sites as needed
Schedule/Shift : Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
