Job Description
Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 USD/year.

About the Role
This position is a full-time onsite role in Houston, Texas. The candidate will support a creator who is building out creative concepts for video games. You will help articulate ideas, organize thoughts, create simple mockups, and develop clear documentation. The candidate must have a long history of playing video games - particularly PC strategy games - and rigorous questions about video game concepts will be a part of the interview process. However, actual game development experience is not required. The candidate will be responsible for translating rough creative direction into structured, polished material while keeping the creator’s vision at the forefront.
This is an early career job opportunity available to currently enrolled students in a University program, or recent graduates.
Responsibilities
- Convert brainstorming sessions and voice notes into clean, organized design summaries
- Create simple concept documents, 1-pagers, feature breakdowns, and visual mockups
- Maintain a clear record of ideas, iterations, and decisions
- Help refine and present game concepts in a way that feels aligned with the creator’s intentions
- Offer enthusiastic feedback and help the creator develop their own design thinking
- Stay flexible and adapt quickly when ideas shift or evolve
- Ask thoughtful questions that bring clarity to direction without challenging ownership
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated in a Bachelor's or Master's university program.
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to take loose, unstructured ideas and turn them into polished documents
- A demonstrated passion for the game development
- Basic familiarity with game design concepts (core loops, progression, player motivation)
- Interest in learning how game ideas develop from concept to execution
- A natural ability to make others feel supported, heard, and creatively empowered
Nice-to-Have
- Experience creating tabletop RPG homebrew content
- Experience supporting executives
- Prior tutoring, assistant, or support-oriented work
- Portfolio pieces that show writing, concepting, or basic prototyping
Work Structure
- Full Time Onsite in Houston
- Work directly with the creator in 1:1 sessions
