- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Outpatient role with occasional inpatient duties including first assist support, rounding, consultations and discharges

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Thoracic Surgery PA assists the supervising surgeon in the operating room, but also plays an integral role in the global management of patients undergoing cardiothoracic, vascular, or aortic surgery.
- Includes all aspects of peri-operative care from performing patient histories and daily rounds to invasive surgical procedures, including the critical retrieval of vascular tissue in coronary bypass procedures
- Competitive candidates must have extensive knowledge of artificial cardiac devices, ventilators and the pharmacologic effects of vasoactive/cardiotonic drugs
- The PA also provides patient care expertise in the postoperative acute care units, step-down units and regular floors
- First assist in the O.R., participate in aortic clinic, endovascular vein harvesting
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Thoracic Surgery PA or Surgical PA required
- Active CA Physician Assistant License in good standing
- Graduate from an accredited PA program
- Knowledge of Epic EMR preferred
- Experience working in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
- Ability to be adaptable based on program needs preferred
