We are partnering with a leading global IT consultancy to source an experienced Senior Field Engineer for a high-impact role based in Dallas, TX . This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and execute infrastructure deployments across data center, enterprise, and retail environments for major clients. The contract is initially 6 months with strong potential for extension based on performance and project pipeline.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver complex infrastructure deployment projects across various environments (data centers, enterprise, retail).
- Pull, terminate, and test Cat6/6a and fiber structured cabling systems.
- Rack and stack network equipment, manage patching, and decommission legacy devices.
- Deploy fully assembled racks, including all cross-connects and hardware installations.
- Install and validate Wireless Access Points with a high standard of cabling and dressing.
- Collaborate with local partners and internal engineers on multi-site or complex builds.
- Train and mentor junior field engineers and partner resources.
- Ensure adherence to customer and internal engineering standards on all sites.
- Deliver high-quality project documentation including redlines and as-built drawings.
- Utilize internal tools to validate project scope, BOM, and supply chain readiness.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and future sales referral.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer engagement at all times.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years in Field Engineering roles delivering infrastructure solutions for large enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in physical infrastructure deployment: cabling, racking, network device installation.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
- Ability to interpret and execute based on MOPs, Cable Run Lists, schematics, and patch plans.
- Skilled with copper/fiber testing tools (Fluke, OTDR, wire map, etc.).
- Comfortable with wireless survey tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet) and signal troubleshooting.
- Experience with basic configuration of network devices (CLI/GUI, firmware, logical config).
- Relevant certifications preferred: CNCI, BICSI, CCNA, CWNA or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven self-starter with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
