Position Overview

Legends Pharmacy is seeking a Part-Time Staff Pharmacist to join our long-term care team in San Antonio, Texas .

This position offers evening and Saturday hours , perfect for pharmacists seeking a flexible schedule while maintaining a consistent role in a professional LTC environment.

You’ll work collaboratively with our pharmacy technicians and leadership team to ensure every prescription is prepared accurately, dispensed safely, and delivered on time to the residents and facilities we serve.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Staff Pharmacist located in San Antonio, TX. The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, counseling patients on proper medication use, supervising pharmacy technicians, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide excellent pharmaceutical care and maintaining accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.

Key Responsivities

  • Verify and dispense prescriptions in accordance with provider orders, pharmacy policies and all applicable regulations
  • Review and validate technician work for accuracy in data entry, labeling, and packaging.
  • Maintain DEA, state, and federal compliance, including documentation for controlled substances.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing facility staff and healthcare providers to resolve medication-related inquiries.
  • Support evening verification, Saturday coverage, and workflow management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in dispensing medications, verifying prescriptions, and maintaining accurate pharmaceutical records
  • Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations and guidelines
  • Strong communication, patient counseling, and customer service skills
  • Ability to supervise and train pharmacy technicians effectively
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Texas
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree or equivalent educational background preferred
  • Prior long-term care experience and/or closed door pharmacy setting preferred
